Horrible Horrible experience. As a first time caller to schedule an appointment thought that this was going to be easy but it surely was not. First I was told, I would get a call back to make an appointment. 2hrs later when I called back, I was told "Oh we are not taking new patients until August....." HORRIBLE!!!

This not seeing new patients is ridiculous. Tell your body it has to wait to get sick because the doctor can’t see you for about a month and a half. Then they refer me to Dawson medical center and said they’re a low income clinic. There must be some biases there or cut back cause Dawson charges over 200 for an initial appointment and 140 something for regular appointments. Shipyard medical center only charges 100. They should be referring ppl there if someone asks about low income options.

Might be able to actually leave a review based on services but I can't even get a return call back to get an appointment scheduled. Hoping my insurance can be accepted elsewhere as I have been trying to get an appointment with them for the past 6 months. First they weren't taking new patients till June, now June is here and no one answers or returns a voicemail.

I have constantly been calling and the machine places me on hold until I’m the very first person next to talk with a representative, but once the line is ringing I go straight to their voice mail. I have been calling on multiple days and more than three times when will I actually get to talk to a representative?!

The first appointment I had with New Hanover in June 2012, the doctor said I could wait another year or two before having a full physical since my previous two and a half decades of exams were normal. When this doctor left, I was signed up with Dr. Towne who was pleasant, informative and positive during my first appointment with her in Dec 2012. She refilled my prescriptions for 6 months saying she wished to see me again in June to review my diabetes. I showed up in July for my appointment to get a prescription refill only to have Dr. Towne seem as if she was grumpy and unable to focus on the appointment. My son was with me at the time (22 years old) and more than ready to go to the waiting room during my exam, but Dr. Towne never laid a hand on me and only mentioned that she would see me in December for my full physical. After that appointment, I've made half a dozen phone calls and three physical appearances to their pharmacy trying to get problems taken care of with my prescriptions, including incorrect dosages and incorrect medications. The icing on the cake is that the doctor refused to refill my Birth Control pills (which I take for hormone replacement therapy) until th
